'New' Polo is refined, comfortable, safe and secure with impressive room and a genuine big-car feel, more like driving a Golf than a supermini. Unfortunately, though the car feels solid, the much vaunted VW reliability is a myth. This car has spent too long off the road and although dealer service has been excellent they're not especially cheap to service. Used car values will take a dive too when the facelifted model appears next year.
