Although I have had this car for only 6 months, as a partially disabled drive (no disability modifications), I rely heavily on this vehicle. The real problem is the MPG, only returning about 24-26 locally, which is most of my driving, depite the "official" figures of 36 mpg for the same usage. However, after the top gear kicks in at around 45 mph, the consumption increases to about 40 mpg. The economy probably is better than this on a long motorway drive, although I very much doubt the boasted figures of 56 mpg. Keeping the turbo under control, 50 mph equates to less than 2000 rpm, virtually ticking over. However, allowing the turbo to work fully really depletes the overall consumption. The Diesel engine is rather noisy outside the car, but suitably softened inside, allowing talking at a normal level, even at 70 mph. The cost of my 31/3/05 model bought in October 2005 was £11995. Quite a large layout for a vehicle of this age and trim. New buyers need to be made aware of the range of "extras" on the same trim level when buying. Mine has the basic CD/Radio model, no cruise control and no onboard computer readouts, underseat storage etc. These are really not important, as the exceptional seat layout and ride hight are exceptional. The steering is spot on and light, and the ride is very stable. The auto box is faultless as are the brakes. Over all, I am impressed with the vehicle, but would ask Vauxhall to be less stingy with owners manuals. The one supplied with my vehicle hardly covered the Diesel engine at all, and omitted completely the automatic gearbox or dash layoutand dials, only showing that of the Sport model. It must be said, in partial defense, that the Hayne's manual also omits these as well, except for the diesel engine. The room with 5 seats laid flat makes the interios capacity to look like a van. However, with the extra seata in position, the luggage space is very minimal. As a roof rack is hardly a real option, this is a large disadvantage for a large family.

Versatile workhorse which really comes into its own when you want to transport a bulky item or do a cross-channel shopping trip. High driving position gives an excellent view, though there are blind spots on the front quarters. Comfort is good in the front, less so in the back, especially when lightly laden: the choppy ride makes some children sick. Rearmost seats are a bit of a joke - very little legroom, but OK for transporting small children short distances. Build quality is not great - lots of rattles and squeaks, even from new - but nothing major has broken or fallen off. Running costs are much more satisfactory now that I've abandoned dealer servicing. Fuel consumption is excellent - high 30s when pottering about locally, 40+ easily on a long run if you stick to the speed limits.

Having owned one for three years I can say that this is a first class family vehicle that tows well too. Fine build quality and reliabilty. Very economical and drives even better with a full load on board. Anything else to say ? Just a great car...
