2.2 DTi CD (lthr)
Dave
Overall Rating | |
I've had the 2.2 DTi CD for just under a year now and I can't fault it. It has got leather seats, sunroof and electric everything. If you are looking for a quality second-hand buy, you can't beat this car. You would pay thousands more for a E Class, 5 Series or A6 and not really get any more for your money (apart from a badge). So save your money and buy an Omega!

HAD THIS CAR FIVE YEARS (NEW WHEN I GOT IT)HAS BEEN SUPERB AS WERE MY TWO PREVIOUS OMEGAS. DOES ANYTHING A BMW OR A MERCEDES CAN DO ONLY BETTER AND CHEAPER. AS FOR THE IMAGE PROBLEM PEOPLE SEEM TO HAVE WITH OMEGAS, EVERYONE SEEMS TO HAVE A BMW OR A MERC SO DOES THAT JUST NOT MAKE AN OMEGA ALL THE MORE EXCLUSIVE? GREAT LONG DISTANCE CRUISER, 48MPG ON A RUN EVERY EXTRA YOU NEED AS STANDARD, JUST A PITY VAUXHALL ENDED PRODUCTION.

Omega 99 Elite 2.5 V6 (Auto)
John McG
Overall Rating | |
Have driven this car from new in 1999 and now covered 80,000. Never any problems and a fabulous car to drive or be driven in as a passenger. All extras imaginable and top executive comforts all round. The standard spec from 1999 is awesome and is still best in class today. Top notch German exec (Opel) luxury - with superb M'way capability. Would need £30,000 todat to find an equal - but I have no intention of parting with my fantastic Elite for a while yet.

2.5i V6 CDX

I've had the car for 9 months. I have just checked the front brakes as I thought they had worn only to find the pads still have about 12 months left. I don't like how it brakes - feels like rubbing stones together! There's a slow leak on the coolant system and the CD player has Gremlins... on off on off on... BUT the V6 has status all on its own.(My bro has Impreza GWS or something like. He stated "What it's a V6, go on is it really 6 cylinder? No wonder it shifts then. And it's the smoothest car I've ever been in, I can't understand why it loses its value so much.")
I do mainly town driving and get an average 23mpg. On the motorway with cruise control it's well over 30mpg. My left knee no longer clicks and cracks thanks to AUTO. I wrote my last car off so bought this mainly for safety reasons. It has four airbags, five 3-point seat belts (two in front, three in the back), side impact bars, you are a mile from the front bumper, and kids are well away from the back bumper should there be front or rear impact. I haven't fallen in love with the car but don't know why.

2.5 V6 CDX estate
Stuart
Overall Rating | |
This car is seriously under-rated. It is better looking, better to drive, and just generally better than all its rivals. It is simply Vauxhall's greatest achievement. A truly great car - fast, comfortable, great looking. I cannot sing the car's praises more highly.
I have owned three, all of them excellent. And now they are only on the used market - they are simply being given away! I sincerely hope that Vauxhall do build a true successor to this great car.

The Omega MV6 is definitely a luxury car. The leather seats, the space, the speed and wonderful.
The one failing that the car really has is the lack of cup holders !

2.5 TD GLS Estate
Tim Withers
Overall Rating | |
I bought my secondhand 1999 omega 2.5 TD GLS estate recently after owning three Audis on the trot - the last one an A6 2.5 diesel estate. I have to say the Omega beats it hands down on most counts. It handles much better; its engine (from BMW) is much more responsive and smoother; it's quieter and more comfortable; it has more load space; and it's far cheaper to buy. Admittedly the build quality isn't up there, but I can live with it. And as for kudos, who gives a toss when it's this cheap & this good - I can live with that too!

Overall Rating | |
I bought this 2001 model in July 2006 and so far have found it to be very good value and impressive. It's under-rated because of the badge -but what's in a name when you get what you want at a very good price? Insurance is also very reasonable. Recommended.
