Apart from doing the servicing myself, repair parts over the past 5 years have not exceeded £200 (in 60000 miles). What more need I say!

We own a Frontera 2.3 TD which is a 91/J with 148000 miles on the clock. It still pulls great, the ride is quite smooth, it's very spacious, and it's in immaculate condition - so it was well worth the money.

Not a bad motor, but being a chippy I find there's not a lot of room. But well posey in the summer - one for the posers when the top's off and the windows are out!

Bought mine at 20000 miles and the last 51000 miles have mostly been on-road towing 1.3 to 1.5 tons, with occasional grass and rough track use. Totally reliable but requires lots of maintenance, is underpowered when towing, can be a bit of a handful (but is more comfortable than a Land Rover) , and it's thirsty - all by today's standards. Best driven below 60mph (reduces noise and petrol consumption). A solid 4x4 at cheap price which does the job. But if you want gadgets or a 'posing' vehicle... look elsewhere and pay a lot more! Good value second-hand.

I've had my Frontera for three years now and I love it. Really roomy and with huge boot. A little pricy on petrol, but fun to drive.
