Despite the well worn cliche that this car looks bland I have to disagree and so does everyone who has seen mine! It has presence and the front and rear styling is very much stand out from the crowd designing. Almost retro with shades of Audi at the front end. Bodywork is up to usual Toyota standards. Auto is extremely smooth and shifts are perfect. The 1.8 petrol is adequate and I expect the MPG numbers to be in the high 30's to low 40's overall. Plenty of room in the back. The driving position is a little high for me though. The dash is a little plain and could do with a few reliefs but not fake wood please. My only other complaint is that the car is a little noisy with intrusive road and wind noise that you would not expect from a large Toyota Saloon. Perhaps Toyota needs to emulate Lexus a little more. Toyota dealers seem to be responsive on serving issues and I suspect the factory is keeping them on their toes. Bottom line: this car is great value for money and is a quality built comfortable cruiser that is also happy around town. It looks great and stands out from the bland Passats and generic Mondeos and Vauxhalls. Almost Audi-distinctive in my view.
