A fantastic family saloon with loads of room and a huge boot. Everything you need - reliable, comfortable, easy to drive, good build quality and a great engine with performance and economy. Just because it doesn't have a German badge it's cheap.

The Avensis I have is 5 years old and had previously been a company car. It is serviced regularly and is a great runner: it has always been economical and reliable. It's in a class of its own bringing quality and affordability with a good feeling. It's a good fast drive if you floor it, and it handles great... just bad when it rolled it due to pump shut off and brake seizing - but then again it wasn't built to do that! A good car if kept well - and still worth a good 8 grand or more.

It's an extremely reliable car. I've driven one for a while and can attest to its reliability. However, the paint fades easily and you may need to carry out some bodywork somewhere down the line. Parts are not exactly cheap as well. Greatest minus: it doesn't create a great visual impression, which may affect resale value. But I must say it's a solid run-forever car!
