The Suzuki Alto in its last guise was a terrific little car. The 1.1l engine and very light body gave great acceleration and a top speed of just over 100mph with excellent fuel economy. Later cars came with extras such as electric front windows, electric mirrors, central locking and cd player as standard. Unbelievably reliable, the only problem was its lightweight body tended to be blown around on motorways and with front wheel drive, wheel-spin at roundabouts was a common occurence. But overall the alto was a cheap, reliable and fun car to own and drive.

Suzuki Alto (1997-06)

The Suzuki Alto is a terrible car. From just looking at it with its ugly exterior styling and non-spacious within. But this car is both economical and reliable. If you are the type of person wishing to have a cheap new car which will last and uses little fuel and are not bothered about the looks then its perfect. Given the engine size (1.0) its extremly nippy if you drive it correctly, through to 4th gear you can gain some good acceleration. This car is capable of exceeding 100mph. The one thing that got on my nerves the most was the noise inside the car, as soon as its past 65mph you pratically have to shout to passengers.
But given the price of a new Suzuki Alto you can't really ask for much more.
