Mine Laguna is a 1997 P, owned for 4 years. 100k on the clock when purchased, 158k now. It's an excellent family car for 3 kids and 2 adults - fast, spacious, good reliability, but heavyish on front tyres (only about 10k miles between tyre changes). It's a definite motorway car; quite good round town but heavy on the juice, while motorway driving sips fuel. I'm very happy with the car. I service it myself - look after engine and it should run and run. No other problems encountered , so overall I'm very happy.

Brought at 50,000 and now 101,000 and still running fine, had a water pump problem which should have damaged the engine at 80,000 but the 16v engine was a tough cookie! overall been a great workhorse, real economy estate lots of boot space. downside ive got no aircon in my model and fully loaded it's a bit slow at 1.6.... but alone to work on motorway maintains a great speed and very reliable. Cheap to buy now if you need a value estate car overall im happy.

A lot of car for the money and it grows on you... One of the most user-friendly, solid, comfortable cars I have ever driven. It feels safe and handles well. Makes you a fan of the marque and model!

A very roomy car (bigger than my previous Mondeo) with comfy seats and most of the bells and whistles. Goes very well for a tiny 1.6 and gives good top speed, with a respectable accleration for a large family saloon. Much better engine than the previous 8v models (up to late R Reg), but the clutch is its only let down, rough pedal action and stiff, with high biting point - cable op, whereas mondeo was hydraulic op (lighter and smoother). Radio concealed behind a hideaway door - a good security feature. Boot is huge, very practical, and air-con fitted as standard is very nice when gassed up and working. Its a great looking car, Much better looking than the current Megane (the shakin an ass one. Would recommend this to anyone - who needs the 3.0 V6 when the 1.6 is so nippy and economical?
