Good Points: i.Good on petrol ii.Road holding iii.Very zippy for town driving iv.Good acceleration Not-so-good points: i.Have to chage into 5 gear little too quickly ii.Sometimes stalls iii.Space in back is non-existent - unlike 5dr model

An excellent first car. Quick if revved up to 5000 rpm before changing gear. Good use of space inside. Handles well with alloys on. Petrol consumption is excellent! It just needs some bite in the engine department which a few modifications would sort out. Never been over 85mph but apparently it will do over 100mph - will have to see one day!

I have a Renault Clio 1.2 MTV (2000). While overall it's a decent car, the fuel economy is horrible. I'm only getting approx. 27 mpg... and I thought a small 1.2-litre car would be more economical. Has anyone else noticed similarly poor fuel economy?

I absolutely love my Clio. it runs well and it is actually quite nippy for the engine size. It's very reliable haven't had a problem since July 07 where the breaks needed replacing. I can get 350 miles from topping up the tank. Great car!

One of the best clios around. Superb car, excellent handling, great performance, very nippy. Easy to maintain, cheap to insure, a real gem. Now upgrading to 1.6 RSI 16V for a bit more Vavavoom....new review on RSI to follow

Bad buy. Handling like a jelly, performs like a twenty year old Mini. Couldn't wait to get rid if it and am likely never to but French again.

I had the MTV from new. Four years and it has never broken down - I've only had to replace brake pads; never even had a puncture; and it runs on hardly any petrol. A great little car to get around town - low insurance etc. As long as you're not flash this is the car for you.

I love my Clio, but the only fault that I have with it is that the automatic wind screen wipers do not work as well as they could do!
