I am on my second Proton - a Persona 1.6 GL. It has never let me down, runs very well, but has only covered 37,600 miles in those ten years due to my being ill. I recommend Proton to anyone who wants a strong dependable car. I first drove one in Borneo and my daughter is on her fourth Proton. That must say something good!

I bought a Persona 1.8 auto as a 'runabout' for the wife. It stands in the drive next to my £20K turbo Passat. It's a better looking car and the simple fact is that we both prefer driving the Persona to driving the Passat! £20K vs £2K - the Proton is equipped with countless extras and makes a fantastic secondhand buy!
