Fantastic responsive engine provides effortless high speed cruising with the 6-speed gearbox. Good value for money with latest equipment as standard such as sat nav, ESP, EBD, climate control etc, at least £3k cheaper than equivalent Focus and Megane. Image not great but recent facelift looks good with alloys and restrained body kit on SXE. Only complaint is slight road roar at speed and lack of cruise control on options list. 50 mpg achievable, but usual 42 mpg average not bad for petrol V6 performance - it's that good.

This almera was a waste of money. I bought it in May 2005 with 11,000 on clock for £6000. In December 2006 the gearbox broke down - was told it would cost up to £3000 to repair. One or two other things had gone wrong with this car, so we decided to exchange it. We were offered £2600, a loss of £3400 in 18 months! We had expected to have owned this car for quite a few years as the salesman had said nissans were reliable (not this one I may say). No-one has been interested at the amount of money we have lost.

Using 1 as a driving tuition car. 2 gearbox rebuilds inside 40K miles? somethin wrong there me thinks. when there are others in my area that have done 100K+ with no probs. best hope u pick a good 'un!!!!

Nice car but very tinny build quality. The 2.2 DCi has a poor economy for a diesel - only 30-44 mpg.

The car they did not want you to drive. They must have your best interests at heart. Tinny, in fact a lot of road noise, but as reliable as any other Japenese car.

Gearbox rebuilt at 36000 miles, garage not interested at expense of cost. Got rid of it!
