Just had first service - cost £310 - and dealer found uneven tyre wear in all four wheels. Dealer says service does not check alignment of wheels. I requested they investigate the problem as part of the warranty but was told it did not cover this. Have since found various sites on internet mentioning uneven tyre wear on various Mazda models including the 6.

Uneven tyre wear...ohh dear. I am now on my 5th front tyre in 20k miles!! My old dealer in Penarth said it was my driving style..yeah right, i use the car for the odd trip to yorkshire and for the usual kids school runs. Avoid the Penarth dealership they are very very unhelpfull and discurteous. Just returned from mazda newport and they have confirmed mazda know of the tyre wear problems and are looking into it on case by case situation.

Excellent car. Super looks and great value for money. Just a bit unrefined over bumps and potholes. I highly recommend this model having previously owned other models in this category.

Disappointed with uneven tyre wear on the rear wheels: outer edge 1mm, inner edge 4mm at 15,000 miles. Dealer says it's a characteristic of the car. Mazda say it's my style of driving.

This is a great motor: fun to drive, roomy, sat nav is great for finding my fishing locations, massive boot, a bit scary with the petrol, but overall I'm very happy with it. I even bought a private reg for it! (MAZ 6)

Out of all the cars I have owned and had the pleasure to drive (which includes a fair few particularly in this category) this is the best car in my opinion. I have had mine 2 years (bought from new), done 35,000 miles and have had no trouble to-date. I must stress that I have not had any trouble with uneven tyre wear (thought I would mention due to other reports). The handling is very good, acceleration is also good (diesel engine - 55/2006 model), very comfortable and spacious - good family car. The car is very stylish inside and out unlike some that in my opinion look very dated.

In many areas this car is second best. Mondeo handles better, Accord is higher quality and Vectra is more roomy. The exception is running costs and value for money. Over the last 1000 miles my car has averaged over 38 mpg. The first service will cost £101 and it's in low Group 9 insurance. It will retain more value than any other car in its sector and it looks great. It has been reliable and is fun to drive. These are real reasons for buying a Six.

Don't buy a secondhand one from a dealer as Mazda refuse to transfer warranty, said they would if bought privatley. Case before insurance ombudsman also sat nav is rubbish can take you up to 50 miles out of your way, that said fun car to drive and has great style.
