Great driving position. Sluggish when first started in the morning but cannot hear the engine when warmed up unless you're doing over 70mph. Finish is a problem. Repairs are very expensive - at all LR dealers. Happy with a networek garage after 3 years. Parts are too expensive - even after learning that they are imported from Eastern Europe!!! Good in the mud!

Not a perfomance car but not supposed to be. Handling is ok for a high car and there is lots of room. Comfort is good and it's great for throwing the dog in the back with the side opening door. It performs well for its engine size and can handle off-road.

The Freelander was unresponsive, especially when loaded, and tended to roll around corners. There is a good amount of space but the side-opening tailgate is a pain. Build quality is poor and gadgetry unfulfilling.
