I bought this car at a main dealer with 12 months warranty. A JOKE! Car had many faults. but was only 2 yrs old. R/w/wiper motor blown, detached driver's seat, SRS warning light always on, intermittent overheating (said no fault at dealers!), bottom hinge of driver's door snapped and door almost fell off, steering wheel rake adjuster arm fell off, rain from leak collected in driver's footwell... Then 11 months from purchase, cylinder head diagnosed as gone. Warranty was void... I'd gone 1000 miles over the service allowance. Cost me £849.35!!! Operation of CD player was hit and miss working. Central locking stuck several times. Sunroof seals let water in. Repair by Fiat left it in a worse state!
MY ADVICE:
The Bravo, when it runs, is a joy and performance is gr8. But don't be fooled... you'll pay for it with a breakdown. There is always something going to go wrong - guaranteed. If you've got loads of money, a sense of humour and the patience of a saint then this is your dream car. But if like me you're spending cash you've worked hard to save, have limited funds for an unreliable car and want to ensure trouble-free motoring for a while avoid ANY FIAT!
I was extremely disappointed that problems were not repaired properly under warranty, and feel that some problems were 'hidden' until the warranty had expired. As a car - wouldn't touch it as a gift!
FIAT? In my experience, Fix-It-Again-Tomorrow.
