I love this car! I've had it a year now and it's the best driving car I've ever owned (way better than the Golf GTi I had). It handles beautifully and the engine does pretty much I'll I'd want. Cornering is fantastic and the balance is also very good. But let's be honest, it's not a car for passengers. Cramped in the back and awkward to get in and out it's not really a family hatchback. Also, the ride quality is terrible...not so noticable when at the wheel but passengers hate it. No real problems with mine but be aware of the tracking being a bit fragile. My tracking was put out and the expensive, run-flat tyres were bald in no time...and it's not free to get realigned again. Great drivers car. Terrible for passengers. Think of it as a two seater but with a boot and extra seats.

Disappointment from word go Mechanical faults and electrical faults seem to rear their head much too frequently. BMW call it a compact hatch im 5ft 9 and I call it cramped not half the car of my previous 320d. Depreciation horrendous and don't consider chipping them as my mate did his and has had nothing but trouble with it since for very little improvement in economy or performance. Dashboard warning lights seem to illuminate with alarming regularity not a patch on my old 320d. 8 months old now and has spent 64 days in total at dealership to repair niggling faults not the product I would expect from BMW. Couldn't possibly reccommend one only to someone I didn't like. Totally dissatisfied with car though the dealersip staff are nice I'm now on first name terms with most of them. Will never have another even for free couldnt possibly reccommend anyone buying one. Dissatisfied is understatement of decade.
