Great car all round, no problems at all. Very refined 2.5 TDI engine makes it a pleasure to drive both around city and long distance travelling. The Tiptronic gearbox is exceptionally good with very smooth gear changes. Very difficult to fault the car in any way: the drive and comfort are both beautiful. The optional Bose sound system is faultless; however the standard unit is great also. I've not had a single problem with this car yet and would recommend an A6 to anyone. It's also very good value for money in comparison to some rivals.

I just bought a 2001 model for an amazing £3800. FASH and timing belt changed. Great car, very comfy and very roomy. I had a 1.8T a few years back and loved it too. The 6 speed auto is super smooth and you cannot tell when it changes gear. Even though my car is 7yrs old, it feels new and the interior is completely unmarked.

Very good car. Performance is good and mpg averages 28.8 but I've had a few probs with suspension arms. Apart from that though I have enjoyed this car immensely. The Multitronic is great for zooming around country lanes and the car's styling looks great.

The car has beautiful looks and can easily rival the BMW 5 series or the Mercedes E Class. The cabin is awfully quite with a smooth and comfortable drive. It has an amazing spacious boot and the rear leg room is also huge. Running the car is not as expensive as most people would make it out. The suspension however is not as good as it can be and the cars ABS brake system can cause problems sometimes. Overall though I would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable if not luxurious car.

Having just spent a year driving a noisy vectra dti, the quietness of the A6 petrol came as a real pleasure. And it starts first time , every time..luxury! I have driven my partners' A3 for a while, but that was no comparison. The A6 drives beautifully, straight line, bends, you name it. The car is a real head turner, inside and out, understated alloys, massive boot space, electric package superb, what more could you ask for.
