This recent generation Fiesta received an injection of Ford's 'New Edge' frontal styling. There was a smart new interior, too. But more modern rivals offer better safety and space.

Road Test
The 1999-2002 Fiesta Mk 5 is essentially a face-lifted 1995-99 car. Same size, same lack of family-friendly rear accommodation, same so-so safety rating. Fresh and smart when new, it's likely to age quickly now that the current Mk 6 'mini-Focus' model has set a new agenda.
The upside is that prices for this essentially enjoyable small car are falling. It has traditional Fiesta virtues of easy, low-cost ownership, plus responsive, balanced handling and zippy Zetec engines from the 1995-99 range (there's now also a 1.6 Zetec S - almost a 'hot hatch').
Ride quality is excellent, front occupants will feel comfortable, there are more goodies to play with (including air con on LX models), and security is even better than before.
This Fiesta promises affordable driving pleasure thanks to competitive prices and running costs, reliability, plus a dollop of style. If you ticked these boxes, you'll be happy enough.
