Overall Rating | |
A big saloon without being executive status. Strongly constructed but suffers poor driving dynamics and catastrophic depreciation. Often favoured by fleet managers for the level of equipment versus cost.
For
- Lots of comfortable car for not much money
- Generous equipment in a roomy cabin
- Reliable and mechanically tough
Against
- Styling is big and brash
- Thirsty even when driven gently
- Terrible depreciation in early years
Road Test
Good build quality althouth plasticy interior and boring styling let down the image of this large saloon that will never be a trend setter. Driving position is high and adequate at low speed but get on the motorway and the drive is woolly with some body roll. The 2.0 engine is noisy when worked hard, although it does work quite well with the optional automatic gearbox when used for gentle progress. Standard equipment is excellent with electrics as standard. Compared to it's rivals - Mondeo or Laguna the Leganza is a big let down.
