Upgraded and refreshed the A3 becomes the S3 with some styling changes and engine upgrade. The S3 is a super hatchback with Audi build quality you would expect.
- Audi build quality
- High spec interior
- Improved styling
- No sat nav as standard £1400 extra
- Lacking excitement
- Feels bumps in the road
Sleeker styling the S3 exterior has predominantly kept it's looks with just a few minor changes. A sharper look to give it a newer look the shape has long been a winner for Audi with the best selling A3. Inside is not as spacious as expected with the rear a cramped space for adults and not much leg room. The boot is also smaller than would have liked and soon full after a few bags of shopping or couple of small suitcases. However the best part of the S3 is the interior with a high quality specification and top of the range controls, the cabin is defiantly a nice place to sit. Quattro four-wheel-drive gives a sense of security especially in bad weather and grips the road well although you can feel bumps so it would be improved with a smoother ride. 2.0 TFSI engine achieves 5.7 second 0-62mph with a potential top speed of 155mph. Six-speed manual gearbox is precise and smooth.
Overall still a great hatchback car it's just lacking a bit of excitement.
