Aston Martin Vanquish (2001-)

Overall Rating

4 stars

A traffic stopping car with a second to none image partly thanks to classic James Bond. Staggering performance from the V12 engine this is a true enthusiast car for the image conscious. Stunning looks and easy driving makes this car pure pleasure.

Road Test

With its race car looks and F1 specification this car is meant to be driven and not for the faint hearted. The interior is well trimmed and comfortable although cramped for anyone over 6ft tall. There is the option of rear seats but they are so small a luggage rack is more useful. Away from the heavy cumbersome previous Astons the Vanquish is light to drive with a quick semi-automatic gear box, 460bhp from the 6.0 litre V12 engine makes the Vanquish one of the most powerful production cars worldwide. The sheer size of the car makes you feel safe but has been designed with safety in mind including twin airbags. The high purchase price tag, expensive running and repair costs ensures anyone purchasing a Vanquish is not cost conscious, however on the plus side with a two year waiting list re-sale should be good.
