The 5-Series has been criticised for being over-complex and over-styled, but this striking-looking latest model is one of the most capable executive cars around and it's difficult to fault it.

"This is my second 530d. I've got the Sport version and find the ride fairly hard but it sticks to the road well. Very impressive to drive and be seen in. Holds its value well. I would recommend a BMW to anyone."
